This week is also Refugee Week (17-23 June) and the theme is You, Me and Those that came before #Generations. You can find out more information on the website and download resources.

We also want to remember those that have died tragically making the journey to flee their countries.

A friend of WPC works with people in their church that are asylum seekers who have come from Iran due to persecution and have found Christ.  Here some prayer points:

  1. Pray for those who have converted, and therefore have had to leave their home country, pray for the provision of Christians to walk alongside them giving them a sense of belonging as well as being able to help practically as they rebuild their lives. This is a long and often very difficult process.
  2. Pray for the Home Office that it would be an authority in our land that administers in a just way and has wisdom to discern the truth in the many cases presented and to be attentive to the plight of Christians.
  3. Pray for the families of those who have converted to Christianity that their extended families would have the opportunity to meet Jesus. Pray too for the countries that they come from. Iranian Christians ( in Iran) face great danger when they attend House Churches so we can pray for their protection.
  4. There are many churches in the UK who are welcoming  Muslim background believers in a brilliant way. Pray for an increased effective networking and expansion so that new believers can be well looked after especially in the early months of arrival in the UK.
